Mission Statement

The Sacred Forsaken Foundation exists to bring acknowledgement, healing, and connection to survivors, supporters, communities, and the land.

Through community walking and plogging initiatives, cultural connection, advocacy, and survivor-led programming, the Foundation seeks to promote healing while supporting the Physical, Spiritual, Emotional, and Mental aspects of the Medicine Wheel.

The Foundation is committed to creating spaces of remembrance, recovery, sustainability, and empowerment for Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities alike.

The Sacred Forsaken Foundation will direct its profits and fundraising efforts toward the following purposes:

  • Supporting Indigenous housing initiatives, recovery programs, and community wellness services.

  • Establishing and funding sober living, rehabilitation, and detox support services for all people.

  • Assisting land-based movements, environmental clean-up initiatives, and sustainability-focused events.

  • Developing and supporting the “RHR Foundation Program” (Respect, Honour and Remembrance), a survivor-centered initiative founded through sociological study, lived experience, Indigenous teachings, cultural practices, and trauma-informed support systems.

The RHR Foundation Program will work alongside universities, survivor advocacy organizations, sexual assault support services, and community partners to support survivors before, during, and after their healing and judicial journeys. The program aims to provide culturally grounded guidance, emotional support, and survivor advocacy throughout the honouring of survivor experiences within legislative, legal, and community settings.

The Sacred Forsaken Foundation is committed to operating in accordance with the Distribution of Property on Liquidation clause and the Remuneration of Directors provisions established under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, ensuring accountability, transparency, and mission-focused governance.
